Miramont Castle, Manitou Springs, CO

Found Online
Miramont Castle dates back to 1895. Allegedly, a noble couple from Europe came to the valley, meeting untimely and gruesome deaths (she cheated on him and he murdered her and committed suicide). Some have reported hearing mumbled voices and seeing a white/translucent blur floating through walls with steps being heard.
Also from 1904 to 1928, The Sisters of Mercy used it as a sanitarium. It’s reported that there is at least 3 cold spots in the gift shop (which was the tuberculosis unit when it was a sanitarium).
Our Investigation
We were at the Miramont Castle from 4:05pm – 4:45pm on December 1, 2002. The temp was about 42°F (5.5°C). We were disappointed to find out the castle had closed just 5 minutes prior. We did check out as much of the castle as we could from the outside. Standing next to the door of the gift shop was a bit creepy. It was also a bit colder at that door. We made our way up the hill and around the back. The fire damage was still visible on one of the chimneystacks. We walked down into the unkept “garden”, where I had the feeling I didn’t belong there. Leaving the “garden” area promptly, we went half way down the stairs. Something in the windows we passed, grabbed my attention. The windows were very clean. I pressed my camera to the glass as not to get a flashback from the glass. I took a few pictures. In one of them, there is what looks to be a ghostly image. We left shortly after that.
