*Revisited* The Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, CO

This majestic Georgian style hotel in the Rockies was built by F.O. Stanley. He also created the Stanley Steam Engine and owned the company Stanley Steamers, which made horseless carriages, run by steam. He moved out west due to ill health. After his health improved during his stay in Estes Park he started work on the Stanley Hotel, and it opened for business in 1909. Mr. Stanley’s apparition has been seen by many, particularly in the lobby and the Billiard Room, which was his favorite room in life. During one tour group’s visit to the Billiard Room, he materialized behind a member of the tour. Mrs. Flora Stanley, his wife, also haunts the hotel, continuing to entertain guests with her piano playing. Music is heard, and when people look into the room they can see the keys of the piano moving, but everything stops as soon as someone crosses the threshold to investigate further. Room 418 seems to be a center of activity. Cleaning crews have heard many strange noises from the empty room, and have seen imprints on the bed even when it has not been booked. Children are heard playing in the hallway at night. One couple checked out very early, saying the children in the hallway kept them up all night, but there were no children booked in the hotel at that time.

When we arrived, we heard music playing. Rushing upstairs to the Music Room, we were disenchanted upon seeing there was a social event going on in there at the moment. As we wondered upstairs, we were surprised to see they had renovated a bit. There were new number plates on some rooms, and they had hung up some really nice paintings. It was that floor at which we began taking pictures. I took my first picture outside of room 217. Much to my stupefaction, there was an orb in motion in it. This was to be the first of two that day. Up on the third floor, they were in the midst of renovating some of the rooms. We took pictures on each floor, before heading back down to the lobby area. The Music Room had emptied of people by then, and so had the Billiard Room. We spent a good amount of time in the Billiard Room. As we were sitting there, a gentleman walked up to us and asked us if we were ghosts. LOL. Exiting the Billiard Room a bit later, I took a picture of the Lobby area, and got the second orb in motion. The first I had gotten, looked like it was moving in a spiraling motion, while the second looked something like a comet would streaking through the sky. Along with those two, we got a number of other orbs in various areas. I'd say it turned out to be a very good day.
